I awakened to a cold, blustery day @ 5:15 A.M. The last day in November, 2008, where has this year gone. Since I have become a senior citizen the times flies like geese leaving for the south climates. Turkey is all gone & now have started eating homemade Mexican food. A delightful change. The leaves are almost off the trees, grass is dull brown, all that is left are the winter plants. Plus a gadzillion leaves on the ground much to my hubby's dismay. Using the riding lawnmower he chops them into smaller portions, then they keep ground warmer & sheltered for colder weather. The trees dance in the wind like lost orphans waving goodbye, forlorn and lost forever. The wind is gusting up at 20 mph, making the temperatures much colder. I get a strong urge to batten down the doors and start making cookies, bring out all the good books from the library and settle down for a long time indoors. Hubby is up and is Sunday, will make this short, love to read the paper at my leisure.

Home for the Holidays
Oh what a state of euporia. Had a phenomenal time in Colorado. Was able to visit with many loved ones, beat a path to many marvelous sights, had an early Thanksgiving dinner plus celebrated the birthday of a much loved son. Toured a ancient castle, then had cream tea as the original builder of the castle was orginally from England. Saw a Ram Mountain Goat up on the ridge in the mountains while there. Bought a cute tea ball with a minature tea cup. So many sights, became overwhelmed by the enormity of it all. Was sated to the gills with beauty. Had to back off & rest, then started all over again. Takes 12 hours of hard driving to get from Tulsa, OK to Colorado Springs. Oh, need a new set of buns to sit on with all that mileage. In OKLAHOMA we have rolling hills, valleys, flat plains with nothing but sagebrush & mesquite. nothing like the front range of the Rockies. Now on to the fixins of Thanksgiving. Must rouse myself from the hypnotic trance of doodling on the puter. I feel snug as a bug in a rug on this early morn. Need to get into cooking & preparing of the side dishes for this a thankful meal.

Finally, leaving for the Colorado Rockies today. The wind is gusting up to 25 MPH, stripping the trees of their foliage, leaving them to dance in a rather delightful ballet. The branches are dipping and swaying in a classical pattern, reaching for the sky, then plunging towards the ground, whipping furiously, trying to set them free. Being firmly fastened to the tree trunk, they are losing the battle. In front of our deck, the lil red Japanese Maple still hasn't lost its leaves, totally exquisite in her fall coat, hanging on to it desperately. Will be so nice to see all our family, has been too long. We can drive the trip in 12 hours if we push it. Will be a wondrous week. When we have our family, we are totally blessed with happiness. Not that I would want to live there, Okla is cold enough, don't need all that snow here. Last year we had a devastating ice storm. Sounded like the 4th of July, branches popping off everywhere. Lost our power for a week, had to stay with the neighbors until we acquire a generator, the blasted machine sucked gas like an 18 wheel truck. Not griping, just stating a fact. Have you ever taken a cold shower while the temperature in the house is 40. I recommend it, certainly wakes up all your tactile senses. Didn't dare touch the shower door, would have frozen in a second. Who wants to run back to the neighbor"s with the shower door hanging on your nose. So, bloggers I will say goodbye for now until I get back & try my blogging again. Your Okie (thinks she is a novice writer) says Adieu

Creeping up on the afternoon very rapidly. Gonna take the afternoon a lot slower than the earlier part of the rainy, cloudy day. The trees are beginning to look as if they have lost most of their clothes, bare and scraggly. Spouse piloted the riding lawn mower like he was in the Indy 500, chopping leaves (makes him feel better) ground looks cleaner and the leaves much smaller. Next spring he will take up rake in hand and won't feel so overwhelmed by gargantuan oak leaves already on our lil acre. I felt overwhelmed while reading other blogs, sure don't have the command of the english language like some of the bloggers. Just getting started on this, having fun right now and looking to expand my command of new words and phrases. Sure glad I didn't try to write a book, would have been consequentially boring. Just testing my brain to add some new grooves while learning how to write at the same time. Earlier in the day, clouds looked like whispery cotton slowly wafting around the sky. Now all is grey, dark and dismal, painting a picture of hot chocolate, homemade cookies and a good book to curl up with. Chance of cold, cold weather. The wind is high, leaves still on the trees dancing to the music of sharp, swift gusts of cold wind. I am a little ditzy this day as the vacation time is fast approaching. Haven't been out of the state for almost a year. My feet are picking up the beat very quickly. For all who read this enjoy or delete, LOL. Have a peaceful day
Ahhhhhhhh another early morning, have my days and nights turned around. Get a lot done that way, mostly on the computer. But the quiet of the early morning is nice. And I get to pick and choose exactly what I want to do. Stepped out on the front deck and behold, what a beautiful sight. The moon if full, shadow by thinly veiled whispers of clouds. Exquisite sight, sometimes I forget how wonderful the simple sights we are provided with, I get so carried away for the ordinary chores of the day and overlook the pictures nature provides. This writing is just what I need, to be able to express what I see in the ordinary early morning. And many other sights to behold. Live out in rural country, sometimes take little bits of mother nature for granted. And since I am walking in the sunset of life, need to be more aware of beautiful scenes around me. We are going to leave for a trip in a couple of days, going to mountain country in Colorado. Have lots of in-laws there, I am always overwhelmed by the sight of the Rockies when they begin peeping over the horizon. Oklahoma doesn't have mountains, just very large hills, pretty but aren't breathtaking like the big mountain ranges. This being my first blog, is amazing how the words flow out. Think I have found my niche, much easier than trying to write a book. This is all for now. Will start again later.
Ahhh, couldn't sleep, the time is now 4:11, so just evacuated the bed and went to the kitchen to brew some coffee. The last few nights have been the picture of waking up early in the morning & arising to keying away on the puter. I have been going to bed with the chickens since we fell back on the time. Really wish the government would just let things stay in the normal mode, but not possible for. Meddle, meddle, meddle. This will not be an exciting blog. Just an ordinary person here. But felt the need to express myself. I have never blogged before so this will be a new experience for me. Easier than trying to write a book. Will stop for now, just wanted to try this out. Adios for now.
